PRESS: Russia may replace key units’ foreign soft, hardware in 2023

MOSCOW, Nov 11 (PRIME) -- Russia could set the January 1, 2023 deadline for replacement of foreign software and equipment at the facilities of critical information infrastructure, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday, quoting a draft presidential decree.

The draft on economic measures of technological independence and security of critical information infrastructure was prepared by the Digital Development Ministry and handed over to the president’s state and legal directorate for approval.

The Digital Development Ministry will control software replacement and the Industry and Trade Ministry hardware. In the banking sphere, the central bank will be involved.

Critical information infrastructure includes state agencies, banks, transport, connection, healthcare, defense, fuel and nuclear industry and power facilities.
